THE HAPPY SKIN PROJECT IS OUR PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES FREE AND DISCOUNTED SOAP TO PEOPLE CURRENTLY UNDERGOING RADIATION OR CHEMOTHERAPY.
HOW IT STARTED
The idea resulted from Judith's background in having extreme skin issues, her work in an intensive care hospital setting, and a long list of family members touched and taken by cancer, including her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The initiative truly took form during Judith’s time caring for patients and family members. It was during this time that she realized that health insurance doesn’t cover an allowance for quality, sensitive skin products. Without proper skincare suitable for fragile/medically- impacted skin, a patient is often left with dry, itchy skin. This can lead to skin tears that cause infection, which can turn into a life-threatening situation for the immunocompromised. The Happy Skin Project provides high-quality, deeply-moisturizing soap bars at the same price as drug store brands in order to alleviate and soothe skin problems that come from cancer treatments.
HOW TO CONTRIBUTE
The Happy Skin Project provides high-quality, deeply moisturizing soap bars to alleviate and soothe common skin problems that come from chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Our biggest goal is pretty simple: get quality soap (the cornerstone of any routine) in patients’ hands at no cost to them.
You Can Support This Project By:
1. Purchasing a Sunshine Bar, our 2:1 soap, that donates TWO Happy Skin Project bars with every purchase.
2. Donating a Happy Skin Project Bar through our online listing for $2. You can also purchase a Happy Skin Project bar to ship directly to yourself, a family member, or friend going through treatment through this listing.
